Quercus x hispanica | Palo Alto

Here we see, as best we are able, the Laucombe's Oak growing in Palo Alto. The tree has been growing in ivy beds in the park for many decades, and is thriving with the additional irrigation. This park is located in an area of alluvial soil in Palo Alto, giving the tree evolutionarily-familiar soil and ground water situation in which to thrive.
