Oak Hybridization At The University of Utah

In the early 2000's, this book could still be found in the gift shop at Red Butte Gardens, the arboretum of the University of Utah. This rare book contains information about the oak hybridization experiments at the University of Utah, by Dr. Walter Cottam and his colleagues. This book is tremendous resource in determining the parentage and history of many of the oaks growing at the Shields Grove. This is because Dr. Cottam was working closely with the excellent horticulturists at the University of California, Davis, to create the Shields Grove, the largest collection of oak trees west of the Mississippi River in the US.
