Quercus calliprinos | Davis

Levantine Live Oak, about 50 years old, in good growing conditions in Davis, CA. Due to their shrubby growth habit and spiny leaves this tree is unlikely to ever become a prominent feature landscape tree in California. But for dry buffer landscape areas, like department of transportation lands near freeways, the long life and absolute drought tolerance makes it a tree worth considering.
