Quercus canbyi | Dallas
In 2006, while researching oaks potentially adapted to California but never tested, I ran across descriptions of Quercus canbyi. It sounded quite promising. That same year, I went to the International Oak Society conference in Dallas, and met David Richardson, a very savvy oak guy from Texas. We stayed in contact, and in 2008, I went back to Dallas, and David took us to the trees. Nice foliage, nice upright growth habit for urban use.
